Catching the Bigg(est) action on screen...

It has been a long waiting...Ever since I read about Christopher Nolan shooting the new edition of Batman partly on IMAX. My first IMAX experience was around 2 years back at Prasads while we were shooting a at the Ramoji Film City. The IMAX version of ‘Polar Express’ and IMAX 3D ‘Into the deep’ were playing at that time. The experience was awesome...(Trust me, it is beyond words and it is worth watching it….and just keep wondering ‘could it be even bigger’!!) At the end of the screening when the announcer said “come back soon” I really wanted to… to catch the first original IMAX 3D animated film T-REX, the trailer of which was shown before ‘Into the Deep’. But I could not make it. This time when the stories began to appear in the net about the new batman being shot on IMAX, my hunger for the biggest screen got rekindled. So, off to Hyderabad…It was Onam days! Even better, stay away from the junk on TV. Lallu’s only wagon connecting Kerala to Hyderabad- Sabari Express- was jam-packed! But this time I didn’t want to miss the show for any reason…I so flew lite! It was a visual FEAST on waiting! Dark Knight was ofcourse great! Switching up and down to the original IMAX footage and the 35MM DRM blow up! Surprise came in the form of Kungfu panda’s IMAX version and on top of that there was Space Station IMAX 3D! Well, that was the real thing… IT IS NOTHING LESS THAN GOING UP THERE AND LOOKING DOWN!!! Next is Adlab’s IMAX in Mumbai. It is a dome. Gotta check out the difference. Meanwhile, who told me there is an IMAX screen cominmg up in Cochin? Too good to be true!!!
